Hamar (NTB): Everybody wanted to congratulate the Olympic 
Champion Dan Jansen after 
his 1000 meter-triumph in the Vikingship stadium on friday. 
The United States president Bill Clinton was the first 
person to call after having seen the gold medal speed 
skating performance live on TV.

  The audience's celebration of the Olympic Champion
Dan Jansen would not end 
after he took his 1000 meter-gold medal in the Vikingship. 
Shortly after the great spectators favourite hadde crossed 
the finish line for a new world record he received a very 
exclusive call of congratulations. President Bill Clinton
and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton were on the line to
congratulate him.

  - I met your wife and daughter earlier this week. 
Unfortunately I was unable to win an Olympic gold medal for 
them at that time, Jansen told the president, with reference
to Mondays 500 meters with the presidents wife and daughter
Chelsea in the grandstands.
